13 institutions did not pass the Ministry of Health's assessment in May 2026. Their licences were suspended from 7 Sep 2026, and their students were reassigned to other universities under Ministry Order No. 912 of 3 Aug 2026. None of them can take a new student. Several still advertise, and some agents still sell seats in them.

Order 912 names a receiving university for each failed school; the line "students to ..." on each card below is taken from it. Your records and fees paid are a matter between you, the old institution and the receiving one, and reports in September 2026 described more than two thousand Indian students waiting for clarity from the NMC about how a transferred degree will be treated. Keep every receipt, enrolment letter and transcript.

No. The Cabinet ruled in August 2026 that no medical school may admit new students without state accreditation, the Embassy of India wrote on 29 April 2026 that failed institutions lose the right to enrol and to issue state diplomas, and their licences for medical programmes were suspended from 7 September 2026. An offer letter from one of the 13 is not an admission.
The Ministry of Health said on 8 September 2026 that re-accreditation of medical universities is planned but that no timeline has been set. The amended procedure allows an extraordinary accreditation on request. Nothing has been published since; this page records any change with its date.
They were moved to accredited universities under Order No. 912 of 3 August 2026, amended by Order No. 1074 of 14 September.
