For students from India · state accreditation decided 29 May 2026
Indian students are the largest foreign group doing MBBS in Kyrgyzstan, and the ones most affected by the 2026 accreditation: the Embassy of India in Bishkek has twice advised students which institutions to avoid, and more than two thousand Indian students transferred from failed schools were still waiting for the NMC's position in September 2026. This page puts the rules, the embassy advice and the exam counts in one place.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) publishes no list of approved universities, so no school can truthfully be called "NMC approved". Its Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations 2021 set conditions on the degree instead: at least 54 months of study, a 12-month internship at the same institution, teaching in English, and registration with the regulator of the country where you studied. Indian citizens with a foreign MBBS must then pass the FMGE (to be replaced by NExT) before they can practise in India.

The Ministry of Health assessed all 34 institutions in May 2026. 4 passed for six years and 3 state universities are exempt by law; those 7 hold full accreditation. 7 received a one-year term and are reassessed in 2027. 13 failed and lost their licences, and 7 did not apply; none of those can take a new student, whatever an agent says. The Embassy of India in Bishkek advised students on 13 July 2026 to avoid institutions with a one-year accreditation.

For an Indian student the entry conditions come from two places. The school asks for completion of secondary education with physics, chemistry and biology, and admits without an entrance exam of its own; the ministry's unified portal, EduGate, routes the application. The NMC side is what matters for practising later: under the Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations 2021 you must have qualified NEET before you leave, the course must be at least 54 months with a 12-month internship at the same institution, teaching must be in English, and you must register with the Kyrgyz regulator before you can take the FMGE. A school that admits you without NEET is not doing you a favour; the NMC will not count the degree.
Schools here sell five-year and six-year programmes, and some a five-and-a-half-year one. The NMC minimum is 54 months of study plus a 12-month internship at the same institution, so a five-year programme only works if its final year is an internship the NMC will count; ask the school for that in writing. Each school's course length is in the key facts on its page, and its India box shows how it compares with the 54-month rule.
Six-year accreditation or exempt by law, with English-medium teaching. Fees are per year; the figures below are in INR with the USD amount beside them. FMGE is an exam, not a rating of the school. This school's candidate counts per session are listed in the Exam results block below, with a link to each NBEMS report.

These can enrol now but are reassessed by the ministry in 2027. If a school then fails, its students are transferred and the institution named on the degree changes. The Embassy of India in Bishkek advised students on 13 July 2026 to avoid institutions with a one-year accreditation. What a one-year term means.

Each school's page explains its result, where its students were transferred, and carries the line: Schools can send us evidence for review; we post the outcome here.
Only four schools publish an official fee; the rest are agent-reported estimates, labelled as such on every page. In April 2026 the government set a minimum of USD 3,000 a year for foreign students (USD 3,500 at KSMA), so any offer below that is not a real university fee. Add the hostel, meals, medical insurance, residence registration and flights. Fees on this page are in INR at a mid-market rate dated on the page, with the USD figure kept beside each one.

FMGE is the exam Indian citizens with a foreign degree must pass to practise in India. These are the counts for all candidates who trained in Kyrgyzstan, from the NBEMS institution-wise reports. Each school's own counts are on its page; we do not rank schools by them.
Completion of 10+2 with physics, chemistry and biology for the school, and NEET qualification for the NMC. The course must then meet the NMC's 2021 regulations: at least 54 months of study, a 12-month internship at the same institution, English-medium teaching and registration with the Kyrgyz regulator.
Five or six years depending on the school, with some five-and-a-half-year programmes. The NMC counts 54 months of study plus a 12-month internship at the same institution, so check how a five-year programme treats its final year.
The schools that passed the 2026 state accreditation for six years or are exempt by law and teach in English. They are listed on this page. The Embassy of India has advised against institutions that failed or received a one-year term.
A qualifying NEET result. The NMC's 2021 regulations make it a condition for sitting the Indian screening exam later, and the schools ask for the scorecard at admission; IHSM and Jalal-Abad State University state it on their sites. No Kyrgyz school publishes a minimum score above the qualifying mark.
A school might admit you, but without a qualifying NEET result you cannot sit the FMGE or register to practise in India under the 2021 regulations, so the degree would not lead to a licence at home. The regulator's requirement is in the box at the top of this page with its source.
Weigh three sourced facts: which schools can enrol in 2026-27 (seven without conditions), what they charge (about USD 3,400 to USD 7,900 a year), and how Kyrgyz graduates did in the FMGE, as counts: 3,792 of 15,135 passed in 2024, 976 of 6,293 in June 2025, 1,503 of 7,437 in December 2025.
