FMGE pass rate: what the Kyrgyzstan numbers say
The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination is the test Indian citizens with a medical degree from outside India must pass before they can register to practise. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) runs it twice a year and publishes how many candidates sat and passed, including by institution. Here are the counts for everyone who trained in Kyrgyzstan.

Kyrgyzstan is one of the largest sources of FMGE candidates. The counts above are the sum of the Kyrgyz rows in the NBEMS institution-wise reports, read from copies whose rows add up to the official totals; the NBEMS PDFs are the primary source.
Why counts and not a rate
A rate turns "6 of 90" and "465 of 2,088" into two numbers that look comparable and are not. Per-school groups in Kyrgyzstan range from a single candidate to a few thousand, the report prints some schools under old or alternate names, and one session can swing with a change in who sat. So every school page on this site lists the counts per session, flags groups under 30 candidates as unreliable, and links the NBEMS report. Nothing is ranked by them.
What the exam asks of you
The FMGE is a one-day multiple-choice exam on the MBBS syllabus, taken after the degree and, for most candidates, after a year or more of coaching at home. The NMC's 2021 regulations also require the degree itself to qualify: at least 54 months of study, a 12-month internship at the same institution, English-medium teaching and registration with the Kyrgyz regulator. A degree that fails those tests never reaches the exam. The NMC has said the FMGE is to be replaced by NExT; until that happens, FMGE is the gate.
Common questions
- What is the FMGE pass rate for Kyrgyzstan?
NBEMS publishes candidate and pass counts. For graduates of Kyrgyz schools: 3,792 of 15,135 candidates passed in 2024 (June and December combined), 976 of 6,293 in June 2025, and 1,503 of 7,437 in December 2025. This site shows the counts rather than a rate, because a rate hides how many people sat and invites rankings that the small per-school groups cannot support.
- When will the FMGE June 2026 results be published?
NBEMS publishes FMGE results on its website some weeks after each session, usually followed by an institution-wise report. As of our last check the June 2026 institution-wise report was not yet available. We add each session as counts when NBEMS publishes it; the date of our next check is at the foot of every page.
- Which Kyrgyz medical school has the best FMGE pass rate?
We do not answer that. Per-school groups range from one candidate to a few thousand, the names in the NBEMS report do not always match the school's current name, and a single session's figure says little. Each school's page lists its own counts per session with a link to the NBEMS report, so you can see the numbers without a ranking built on them.
